This rammed earth study cabin was designed to be able to host an artist, student or someone looking for some quiet time either for a short weekend or a nice long getaway.
Walking up the approach you are forced to turn right over the creek where there is a 5.5' wall that just barely allows you to see the beautiful sculpture garden that you are able to fully enjoy through individual viewing stations. As you exit the last viewing station you abruptly arrive at the massive 24.5' structure, welcomed by a nice warm Teak front door.
Once inside a majority of the hot Texas sun is blocked and the heat is absorbed into the rammed earth wall, waiting to be released throughout the night. The little southern light that does come through, floods the staircase and waterfalls into the dining room.
Upstairs is the artist's sanctuary. As you come up the stairs you are engulfed in the northern sunlight coming from the massive windows that are nearly from the floor to the ceiling. This massive open space is where creativity begins and artwork from all shapes and sizes are able to come alive.
